Labs on Legs
Today we were lucky enough to have David from the CSIRO network come to our school. He provided us with an insight to his job, a recap on the basic elements and six hands on experiments. We were especially fortunate to expierieance this specticle as it is not a compulsary part of our curriculam and the school funded the majority of its cost. Some of the experiments we were alowed to conduct included such matiereals as magnesium, zink, milk, water and corbon dioxide, the ways in which these chemicals react are usually not subject to our examination until year nine but for our one hour period we were permitted to use them. Some of these ways included practices like carbanation, evaporation and electrically charging a bulb via our own newely created battery. It was great fun and was only interupted by our momentary silance on the eleventh hour.
