Haiku Poetry
The Japanese art of Haiku poetry has become the prime interest of our literature studies. These include the writing, inquiring and publishing of our own unique Haiku poems. A Haiku poem is essentially three lines, the first of witch has five syllables, the second seven and the third five again. A true Haiku (that rhymes, unlike a Haiku!)!) is about nature and its beauties however our own have been based on some less natural topics. Here are two of mine:
My Desk
Atop a clean tray
Lies my open pencil case.
My specs are near by.
The Seventh Day of Spring
Cold breaks and sun comes.
Birds express Spring by Singing.
The seventh Spring day
